  2. Make ready 250 g couverture chocolate
  3. Get 60 ml olive oil
  4. Get zest of one large orange
  5. Take 1 tsp cinnamon
  6. Prepare 1 cup various nuts (almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts)
  7. Take sesame seeds

Kormos in Greek means tree log and has been named after its shape. You can find this dessert under various names such as mosaico, doukissa, salami etc. The name "Mosaiko", which means mosaic, from the patterns made when the dessert is cut. In Cyprus it is known as "Doukissa", which means duchess.

Instructions to make Kormos with halva:
  1. Melt the couverture chocolate in a bain-marie.
  2. Add the olive oil, the orange zest and the cinnamon to the chocolate.
  3. Cut the halva into small cubes and add them to the chocolate mixture together with the nuts.
  4. Mix slowly so that the halva doesn't melt.
  5. Spread the mixture on a piece of greaseproof paper and form a thick roll.
  6. Place in the fridge for 2 hours until it gets firm.
  7. Sprinkle the roll with a layer of sesame seeds all around.
