In a pressure cooker, add the diced chow chow, moong dal, onions,tomatoes, green chillies and tumeric. Fill with water until the chow chow is submerged. Save some onins for later Wash and drain the moong dal, add it to the chopped chayote/chow chow. Both the dal and chow chow should be soft.

  1. In a pressure cooker, add the diced chow chow, moong dal, onions,tomatoes, green chillies and tumeric
  2. Fill with water until the chow chow is submerged
  3. Cook it for 5 whistles
  4. Save some onins for later
  5. Once the pressure is gone, heat some oil in a deep pot
  6. Add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds
  7. When the mustard starts popping add the onions and chilli powder and saute for 2mins
  8. Next add the contents of the pressure cooker, mix well, add the required amount of salt and let it cook for 3mins
  9. Garnish with some freshly chopped coriander and serve hot with some rice
