The ingredients needed to make Tomato Chutney:
  1. Prepare 3 onion finely chopped
  2. Prepare 4 tomato finely chopped
  3. Prepare 1 tsp red garlic Chutney
  4. Get 1 tsp red chilli powder
  5. Make ready 5-6 curry leaves
  6. Get 2 tsp oil
  7. Prepare To taste Salt
  8. Take For tempering
  9. Get 2 tsp oil
  10. Take 1 tsp Mustard seed
  11. Take 1 dry red chilli cut into 2-3 pieces
  12. Prepare 1/4 tsp asafoetida

Peel and finely slice the onions, roughly chop the tomatoes and deseed and finely slice the chilli. Put everything in a pan, season to taste and stir well to combine. Pour into a sterilised jar and leave to cool. Heat gently stirring until the sugar has dissolved.

Instructions to make Tomato Chutney:
  1. Cut tomatoes & onions into small pieces. Heat a pan add oil add onion and salt so that it cooks fast. Cook till turns transparent and soft.
  2. Add red garlic Chutney and mix well and stir continuously till merges well. Add chopped tomatoes and saute it for few mins.
  3. When colour changes and softens turn off gas, cool it.
  4. Grind it in mixer grinder into smooth puree. Heat a small kadai add oil & mustard when starts cracking turn off gas and add red chilli, curry leaves and asafoetida. Pour on Chutney. Mix and serve it.

Pour into a sterilised jar and leave to cool. Heat gently stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Put all the ingredients, apart from the vinegar, in a preserving pan or large, deep saucepan. Add half the vinegar and season. Place the pan over a medium heat.
