- Make ready 5 medium ripe tomatoes roughly chopped
- Prepare 2 long green chillies (more or less as per your spice preference)

- Take 1 tsp mustard seeds

Peel and finely slice the onions, roughly chop the tomatoes and deseed and finely slice the chilli. Put everything in a pan, season to taste and stir well to combine. Pour into a sterilised jar and leave to cool. Heat gently stirring until the sugar has dissolved.

- Take a jar and add tomatoes, garlic, chillies and salt. Blend everything to a smooth paste. Take it out in a serving bowl.
- Heat oil in a tempering pan. Once hot add mustard seeds and let it splutter. Add asafoetida and temper it on top of chutney. Serve it as is.
- This quick easy and yummy chutney can be served with paratha, thepla, dhokla, khichdi etc etc.. try it you won’t regret I promise.
Pour into a sterilised jar and leave to cool. Heat gently stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Put all the ingredients, apart from the vinegar, in a preserving pan or large, deep saucepan. Add half the vinegar and season. Place the pan over a medium heat.
