- Take 1 block firm Tofu
- Prepare 3 tbsp Cornflour
- Make ready 1/2 tsp Black pepper
- Prepare 1/4 tsp Salt
- Get 2 tbsp Oil
- Make ready Main dish:
- Take 2 tbsp Oil
- Take 1 tbsp Ginger finely chopped
- Prepare 1 tbsp Garlic finely chopped
- Make ready 2 spring onion
- Take 1 Red onion
- Get 1/2 cup Broccoli
- Make ready 1/2 cup Pepper
- Prepare 1 tsp Chilli flakes
- Make ready 2 tbsp Ketchup
- Prepare 1 tbsp Chilli sauce
- Prepare 1 tbsp white Vinegar
- Prepare 2 tbsp Honey
- Get 2 tbsp Light soy sauce
- Prepare As needed Salt
- Prepare As needed Pepper
The vegetables I use are onion, bell peppers, and cucumber. And for the tofu, you only need THREE ingredients (tofu, cornstarch, and oil)- that's it! We make this tofu recipe all the time because not only is it easy to make, it makes the crispiest tofu EVER. Combined with a sticky, flavorful, sweet & sour sauce, this tofu is heaven.
Instructions to make Sweet and Sour Tofu:
- First prepare the Tofu. Take the firm tofu wipe the water using kitchen towel. Press gently don't break the block. Absorb the water and cut into cubes. Or the shape you want. - - Add cornflour, black pepper, salt and pepper to tofu. Toss gently and coat all sides of the tofu.
- Add oil in nonstick pan or grill. Add the tofu one by one. Shallow fry and dry the oil. Keep aside. - - Now it's time for main dish. Heat 2 tbsp of oil. Once hot at chopped ginger, chopped garlic. Saute until it turns to golden colour.
- Take the spring onion. Just cut the onion side add to the pan. Reserve the green side for garnishing. - - Add cubed red onion. Saute for 30 sec. Now add broccoli and pepper. You can add whatever colour you like. I added red and yellow pepper. - Saute for 30 sec. Don't over cook the vegetables.
- Add chilli flakes, ketchup, chilli sauce, vinegar, soy sauce, honey. - Sprinkle some salt and pepper. - Saute nicely.
- Add tofu and saute for another 30sec. Garnish with green onion and serve hot with fried rice or noodles.
We make this tofu recipe all the time because not only is it easy to make, it makes the crispiest tofu EVER. Combined with a sticky, flavorful, sweet & sour sauce, this tofu is heaven. The tofu is crisp with a perfect texture and the sweet and sour sauce is unbelievably delicious! It comes together quickly and tastes amazing as meal prep too!
