The ingredients needed to make Spicy Asian tempeh:
- Take 3 tbsp soy sauce
- Take 2 tbsp vinegar
- Take 2 tsp honey
- Prepare 1/2 tbsp sesame oil
- Take 1 squirt of sriracha
- Prepare 40 g tempeh
Once tempeh is cooked, add tempeh to teriyaki sauce, covering the tempeh. Take tempeh out of the sauce (leaving the extra sauce in the bowl) and add back to pan. Tempeh can be sliced and deep-fried, pan-fried, roasted, braised, steamed, incorporated into curries, stews, chilis, stir-fries…I'll stop but the list goes on. Use the baked tempeh as part of a component plate, sauced or unsauced, cut up as the filling for spring rolls with tempeh, added to a vegetable stir-fry, or as the centerpiece of a hearty sandwich.
Instructions to make Spicy Asian tempeh:
- Mix up the marinade
- Prepare the tempeh to be baked. Drizzle the marinade on TOP, not all of it.
- Bake for 20 mins or until brown.

Season with a bit of coconut aminos (or tamari) and stir to coat. Whisk together the soy sauce, agave nectar, garlic, ginger, and five-spice powder in a flat container or baking dish. Add the tempeh slices, stirring gently to coat the tempeh.
