Steps to make Yam pottage:
- Peel, wash and cut your yam into small cubes. - Wash your fish with hot water and salt. - Blend your chillies and crayfish. - Chop your onion.
- Put your yam in a pot. Add salt, Seasoning cubes, chilli and crayfish mix; add enough water to cover the yam. Cover the pot and cook on medium heat for 10 minutes.
- After 10 mins, the yam should be boiling. Add your fish and palm oil. Cover and cook till the yam is soft (about 25mins).
- When your yam is soft, tear your scent leaves and add to the pot. Turn off the heat immediately; cover the pot and leave for 2-3mins (the residual heat will cook the scent leaves).
- After about 2 minutes, open the pot and mix everything together. - Your yam pottage is ready!!!
