- Make ready 1/4 cup Bengal gram boiled

- At first wash and cut taro stems
- Now steam it and drain the water away
- Heat oil add nigella seeds and chillies
- Add the stems and saute for a while
- Add salt and turmeric powder and cover till it become soft
- Add the boiled Bengal gram and mix
- Add red chilli powder and sugar mix
- Finally add the desiccated coconut and mix well
- Serve it with rice
It is not only used in authentic subzi like oondhiya but also, you can make this Green Garlic Spread with strong flavours. It tastes best when eaten with hot bajra rotla or jowar/ragi roti. Add a generous pinch of heeng (asfoetida) to the tadka and see an amazing twist in the taste. From neera: sindhis make the arbi in a similar way but with a little difference.
