  2. Add steamed taro and saute well adding salt and turmeric powder
  3. Cover it till it gets soft adding Bengal gram
  4. Now add coconut and red chilli powder
  5. Mix well adding sugar
  6. Garnish it with coconut and serve

In a large saucepan cover taro with water. Drain taro and reserve cooking water. In a separate saucepan combine onion and coconut cream. Taro is widely used in many Taiwanese desserts, such as taro ice cream and taro tapioca. If you like a very thin coating of coconut sauce, first season the coconut milk with salt.
